Four hotels – one location

How do you expand from one iconic hotel into three distinct new hotels – each with its own name and aesthetic – all the while preserving the essence and ambiance of the original family hotel?

When the Hildebrandt Hammer family approached us, they owned the well-established hotel, Ascot Hotel, and sought assistance in creating a new and more modern hotel, situated in the same building which is nicely located next to the old public bath in Studiestræde. The hotels had to share the same entrance but have separate unique and distinct identities, posing a brand and design challenge that required the development of a system to manage this.

A virtual home

First things first, we helped contribute to the development of the strategy, name, and design for Wide Hotel, the first addition of new hotels. Simultaneously, we enhanced the family brand, Hildebrandt Hammer, ensuring that all future activities could fall under the same brand while maintaining independent identities that appeal to different target groups.

Over the past five years, we have continued in assisting the Hildebrandt Hammer family in scaling and developing their hotel portfolio from one to four hotels – all located in the heart of Copenhagen. We have been involved in the strategy and development of the hotels, including aspects such as name, brand, interior, and websites. In January 2024, as the crowning achievement, we completed a comprehensive Hildebrandt Hammer website, serving as the overarching gateway to all brands under the Hildebrandt Hammer name
